My sister and I both went to Yew Lane I started in 1961 and my sister was 3 years older than me. The school then was a good school but strict. You had were taught things then whats should be brought back today,ie gardening, cooking etc.I left in 1963 because my parents got divorced and we moved to London. I still have my old school report book and remember a lot of the teachers especially the **** of a school sportsmaster who played for Bishop Auckland and won the FA Amatuer cup with them.

I only lived in Chaucer Road and went to Mansell jnr and then onto the BIG school.Still have fond memories of the school used to get the cane on average 2-3 times per month and got the slipper in front of the whole school by No other than the headmaster the who was called Walter Clayton.Nice mand and he had a deputy head called Exley Good Man.

Loved the Gardening because thats when we could swap our BellBoy football stickers,or play splits with the gardening forks.....

Last time I was in Sheffield was to watch ****nal v United. still watch out for Wednesdays Results.Great place to live then and the school did me no harm especially with my accent tha nows.
Must go back and see the old hunting grounds.

Hi Kenny
Not spoken to you for a while, hope your well.
Still living in Sheffield in Ecclesfield where i also have my office.
Don't know if i told you, but i left Sheffield United and started my own business doing the same thing. A few months ago a new business opened a few yards from me and i was surprised to find out it was part owned by an old classmate of mine Peter Jackson.
Hope to here from you soon and if you are ever up this way give us a shout.
